One day I was super hungry in my house and I really wanted to have pasta with tomato sauce. My mom had pre-made tomato sauce a while ago and we froze it just for this reason. The problem here was the pasta. So I grabbed all the half empty pasta boxes around the kitchen that didn't have enough pasta left to actually make a full batch and put it on the table. I came up with a revolutionary idea:
- Get all the random pasta shapes from around your kitchen
- Look at the times that it takes to cook each one
- Put them in order from which takes the longest to cook to the shortest to cook
- Boil some water
- Find the difference between the longest cooking and the second longest
- Put the longest cooking in and cook for the difference
- Put the second longest in and cook for the difference between that and the third longest
- Continue until you get to the one that takes the shortest amount to cook
- Cook the shortest for the full time
- Eat your very delicious pasta
Example:
Let's say that I have penne (about 10 min), macaroni (about 9 min), and farfalle (about 14 min). I would first put in the farfalle for 4 minutes. Then I would add the penne for 1 minute. Then I would add the macaroni for 9 minutes.
After I made this I added some pasta sauce to the pot and some cheese and ate it. It was delicious. I have pictures:
