Summary
I don't normally make posts like this, but I thought that it was fairly relevant. So my birthday was yesterday, June 1st. I had a fun time, I went swimming with a friend. Sadly when I came home I was forced to chop up 2 huge boxes of strawberries for the strawberry shortcake cake that was for my birthday. Then I opened some presents. My Cake
My family decided that we wouldn't have a traditional cake because it was way to hot here, and it just seemed appropriate to have a strawberry shortcake cake for strawberry season. We used a bunt cake, strawberries, blueberries, and my sister made homemade whipped cream (Click here for the recipe for simple shortcake).
Presents
I'm not going to show all of my presents, just the cooking related ones, because you probably care just a tiny bit more about those.
I was watching TV once, and they were playing some old The French Chef, with Julia Child episodes, and I really liked them. It is always really fun to watch cooking videos in general, but when they filmed her, they just had her set everything up, and then said "Go." She made mistakes, like once she forgot to say the ingredients, or she would spill some of the ingredients or something, I just really like watching them, because they are really interesting. I was really happy to get these.

This was pretty similar to the last gift, but this is one of my favorite movies. I saw this when I was really young and remember loving it, so we got it from our library recently to watch it again, and it was really good. I can't WAIT to watch it again!
I REALLY like soup, so for my birthday I wanted to get a cookbook for soup. This was EXACTLY what I wanted, I mean, it's called Soup, how much closer can you get? I have another cookbook by Williams-Sonoma, which I believe is the publishing company, and I really like that one (There is a review for it on the "Links and Books" page). You may be seeing a review soon, I'll try to update this post when I make the review.
